What follows is a series of tips and tricks you can use to either get sacked effectively, or learn from to achieve the opposite. I achieved 3 dismissals within the 'golden 90 days' (I just made that phrase up). Here it is:
To be really effective, it is ultimately about your mindset. As with any complex social interaction, your mindset is the root of everything, so it is to this which we shall now mainly turn.
What follows is a series of mindsets, attitudes, thoughts, behaviours, actions etc which you should strive to adopt to become a 'serial sackee'. I have also included, where appropriate, the means to achieve specific mindsets - if you're not already there that is...
1. Have money in the bank to fall back on. When you have money to fall back on, you are naturally going to care less about your job and/or the prospect of getting sacked. This 'I don't actually need this job' attitude will be sensed by employers and will naturally increase your chances of getting sacked.
2. You are better than anyone else there. You may not have the specific skills that they have, as you are new to the job, but your potential is SO much greater, you can almost smell it. Have this belief and everyone there will sense it. A rare few may see this as an asset. Unfortunately (or fortunately), most workplaces do not contain these rare individuals. Most colleagues will see you as a threat to their position, or they feel uncomfortable around you because it highlights their insecurities, or you're just an arrogant twat. For obvious reasons, as professional as many employers think they are, this belief will greatly increase your chances of getting sacked very quickly in most workplaces.
3. Think elsewhere. If you dream of being or working somewhere else as much as possible, you will inevitably be found 'staring into space', lost in your thoughts. This is a vacant look and speaks volumes, but it cannot be faked. Difficult mindset to acheive if you enjoy your job, so make sure it's a job that you don't.
